Meet the Team: Michael Tinker

Michael is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined HUB International in 2000 as Claims Manager for the Toronto office. His passion for advocating for client interests, especially in claims situations, has been instrumental to the trajectory of his career.

In his current role leading Operations for the Ontario Region, Michael is involved in almost every aspect of HUB’s Ontario operation and, amongst other things, is key in the development, implementation and adoption of technologies designed to keep HUB on the leading edge.

Michael began his career at Crawford Adjusters Canada where he ultimately rose to the position of Property/Casualty Unit Manager. His strengths are in the areas of general and product liability insurance as well as claims related to commercial property, directors’ & officers’ liability, and professional liability. Having worked on both sides of the table – for the insurer and the broker – Michael’s perspective is invaluable in advocating for his clients' interests.

Michael is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and has his Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) Unrestricted license. He is a National Council Member of the Chartered Insurance Professionals’ (CIP) Society. He earned his B.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto. 

Michael enjoys snowboarding, playing golf, hockey, and squash. He, his wife and two kids live in Toronto.
